Can I have some milk?
Go Back Home!
Everyone has been really nice to me since the surgery. Even Dante. Normally when I rush him, he puts his big giant paws in my face, as if to tell me, "nice try, short stuff!" But lately, Dante lets me annoy him and ride him and he doesn't fight back. I suppose I should cut the guy some slack...
No way! Better get while the getting is good! Take that, Dante, here's to all the paws in my face!

It's My Birthday Today!
Today is my one-year-old birthday. I am very happy! Daddy and Mommy just sang the birthday song to me. Let me record the history here.

Like My Cone?
Do you like my cone? It's supposed to be comfy. Unfortunately, I have such a human-like flat face, I am unable to drink the water. Daddy was too smart, he flipped the cone, that I still have to wear it.
To be honest with ya, I don't like wearing the stuff. It looks ugly. The worst part is that I don't know how to move in this. Mommy says that I look stunned wearing it, is she right?
They are both at work. I'd better catch some sleep, and heal faster!
Do you see my shaved leg, and the stitches?
Updates:
The doctor just called Daddy, and he said that I should have less pain killer since I move too much! Darn, I'll be in pain.

Happy Father's Day!
Daddy went to work today because he didn't go to work last Friday. Me and Mommy stayed at home.
I woke Daddy up this morning by sneezing on his face. That's my way of saying "Happy Father's Day!"
I wanted to buy Daddy's a gift, but I am not allowed to go out. Usually, I give Daddy surprises on his bag, I think he will be happy to see one today since I haven't pooped for two days. I'll try my best.
Daddy played with Dante the chase game today. Is that his gift to me on Father's day, to make me jealous? I just locked the gate to Dante's place so that he cannot come over these days.
Some updates on recovery:
I went out to the yard today a couple of times. I picked up a tree-branch, ate one flower.
I still cannot use that leg yet.
There's new hair coming out the shaved area!

Baby pictures!
Hi everyone. I'm still recovering from surgery, but I'm doing much better today. I can hobble around the yard and even run after Dante a little bit.
Daddy and Mommy have been spending a lot of with me the past two days, and it's been really great. Auntie Doris and Uncle Jason also came by to visit. I remember them because they baby-sat me a few months ago.
Daddy came across my baby pictures, and he decided to put them here. I am the one wearing the little string filled with Ducks (I used to be called Ducky!).
Aren't I adorable??

Surgery Day II
sometime after Mommy left: they took my blood, and then I went sleep
around 16:00: Woke up, still alone. I can only stand with three legs. What happened to my fourth leg? What happened to my boy-parts?
17:00: I heard Mommy's voice, but maybe it's illusion. And then, I saw mommy passed in front of me, illusion again?
17:03: yes, it's Mommy. I cried out loud "Mommy, get me outta here", but Mommy left.
17:04: I heard Daddy and Mommy talking outside. I cried out louder, louder, louder; took a breath; even louder. Yes, they heard me!
17:15: After some time, another stranger opened the gate, carried me out. I couldn't resist, "where's he sending me?"
17:16: I saw Daddy and Mommy. Yeah! I missed them so much!
17:20: Finally, we were leaving that place. Daddy was holding me in an awkward position, well, that didn't really matter. I was with my dearest parents.
17:20-18:00: Mommy drove us back. Me and Daddy stayed in the back, but I wanted to go to the front. Mommy drove a little too fast.
18:00: We were home! Dante, my annoying BFF didn't come over to compete for attention, that was very nice of him.
18:05: No position was comfortable. I had some water, some home-made chicken. yes, home sweet home, I was hungry, thirsty and exhausted. Mommy then wiped me.
18:10-18:45: Hung out in the kitchen, and I fell asleep on Mommy's lap.
After that, I tried to be comfortable. The pain is hurting me a lot, but I am brave.
Good night! See ya all tomorrow. I know it's going to be a tough night.

The Night
(I am Ody's Mom: Tomorrow is a big day for Ody, he's going to have the surgery. Poor Ody doesn't know what “surgery” means. He's such a playful boy, that I want him to enjoy every second of his life.)
Actually, I am not quite sure what's going on lately. Mommy and Daddy brought me to the doc's a couple of times. That place is much scarier than Stanford campus. Daddy says that I am a brave boy, because Mommy refuses to go to the doctor's. She finds a ton of reasons that she's fine.
I had a nice day today -- managed opening the bedroom's door and slept on the bed for the whole day (I learned how to open a locked door without a key from the spy show that Mommy's been watching lately).
I picked out all the home-made chicken from my dinner bowl, and then begged A LOT beef tendon from mommy. And then, I had daddy-made sugar-free mango-peach sorbet as dessert.
I just had another egg with the left-over dinner. Was that to compensate the bath?
I am confused, what's going on on earth? How come they gave me so much to eat?
To eat, or not to eat. It's a hard question. I am tired. I'll leave this for tomorrow.
Good night!

I am back (Ody and Ody's mommy)
I am back!
(This is Ody's mommy. I promised Ody that I would help update his blog everyday when he started it. I made him very disappointed. I apologize to my baby here.)
My mommy was busy with her finals in May. She didn't even have time to take care of herself, let alone updating my blog. :(
Somehow I injured my right eye -- eye ulcer right before Memorial Day. Daddy and mommy gave me some medication every day during that period, but the doc told them that I should stay away from the sun. It's Cali here, you know, so we didn't go out as planned that weekend.
I was also diagnosed of avascular necrosis of the femoral head, aka Legg–CalvĂ©–Perthes syndrome. I am in pain physically, but I know that mommy and daddy are in pain mentally. Mommy cried at the doc's when she heard the news.
My surgery is scheduled to this Friday. Please wish me luck. I enjoy running and outdoor activities, and it's summer. I will keep everybody updated.
I am a strong, happy and lucky boy!
