Stanford Part II

I was embarrassed about being scared of the statues at Stanford, so I asked Daddy to bring me back so that I can show that I'm not scared! See the first picture? I wasn't scared at all. I even made friends with one of the statues.

I really like the Stanford campus. Maybe I'll come here for school! I don't know that I will have the grades, but I think if I sit outside of the admissions office long enough, they'll have to let me in! I will even flash a great big smile for everyone that walks by!

Les Bourgeois de Calais

Daddy's parents and Uncle Raymond (daddy's brother) came to visit today, and they took me to Stanford University for a walk, and I saw the most frightening thing! It's these really scary looking things. They look like people, but they don't move! I barked at them, and they ignored me! Daddy wanted to take me for a closer look, but there's no way I would go near them. This was as far as I was willing to get.

Daddy said that they are famous sculptures known as Les Bourgeois de Calais, or the Burghers of Calais. These people are upset because they are leaving their home, and a mean king was going to kill them! Daddy said that the queen of England intervened and saved them. If they were saved, how come they're still so sad?

Ah~~~! Pimples!

Lately I've gotten little bumps on my face. They don't itch like bug bites, but they're ugly! My mommy thinks that I'm becoming a teenager. I think I need to get some pimple medication.
